Transportation: Drive to Binsar Sanctuary (approx. 4 hours, 110 km

Pick-Up Information

Please make sure to reach Kathgodam Railway Station by 6:00 AM. Once you’re there, VTT will handle the rest of your journey. If you’d like VTT to pick you up, you can choose this option when booking your trip.

How to Get to Kathgodam Railway Station (Haldwani)

  1. By Train
    You can take an overnight train to Kathgodam Railway Station, which is 290 km away (about 6-7 hours). Trains from Delhi, Kolkata, Dehradun, and Lucknow all go to Kathgodam.
  2. By Bus
    Take an overnight bus to Haldwani Bus Stand. The best buses are from Delhi Anand Vihar ISBT (don’t take buses from Delhi Kashmere Gate ISBT). After arriving, you can take a cab to the pick-up point, which is just 6 km away and takes around 15 minutes.(We recommend using government buses instead of private ones because they are more reliable and usually on time. Private buses tend to be delayed. Whichever bus you choose, please make sure to reach Kathgodam by 5:30 AM.)
  3. By Flight
    You can also fly to Pantnagar Airport, which is about 27 km from Kathgodam. Direct flights from Delhi are available. If you’re flying, it’s best to arrive the day before.(If you’d like to travel independently from Kathgodam to our base camp, you can take a government bus or book a private cab. Your trek coordinator will help you with the details.)

Arrival Time

Try to arrive at Kathgodam between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The drop-off point is Kathgodam Railway Station. If you need to travel further, please plan to do so after 8:00 PM.

Kathgodam to Haldwani

Kathgodam is 6 km from Haldwani, which will take about 20 minutes by car.

Transportation Options

VTT provides comfortable rides in Tempo Travelers, Boleros, or similar vehicles. If you’d like to upgrade your transportation, just contact your trek coordinator for help.

  • Reservation shall be confirmed on the payment of the 50% advance amount by the customer. The remaining payment must be paid 10 days before the trip start.
  • Payment can be made via NEFT / RTGS / Bank Transfer / Cash / Online Reservation.
  • In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s
    preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.

  • Cancellation charges are based on the total trek fee, regardless of the full or partial amount paid.
  • The cancellation policy is based on the original booking time and the original start date of the trek.
  • If the booking is cancelled 15 days or before the trek date then 100% of the booking amount will be refunded. (100% refund except for 10% service charges).
  • If the booking is cancelled 7 to 15 days or before the trek date then 60% of the booking amount will be refunded. (100% refund except for 10% service charges).
  • If cancellations are made 0 days to 7 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. (100% refund except for 10% service charges).
  • No show = No refund.
  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
  • All applicable refunds will be done after the deduction of the transaction fee.
  • In case of government orders, harsh weather conditions, protests, landslides, or any other unforeseen circumstances, we work out the best possible alternate plans or trips/treks.
  • Even if certain activities are canceled, the organization provides the best alternative but no refunds are provided.
  • If a trek/trip cannot be completed due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.). No refund will be provided.
