Day 1 - From Rishikesh to Lohajung
Starting Point: Kathgodam Railway Station
Transportation: Drive to Binsar Sanctuary (approx. 4 hours, 110 km
Altitude: Dhaulchina: 6100 ft
Stunning Views: Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Nandadevi, Nandadevi East, Nandakut, Mrigathuni, Chhanguch, and Dangthal.
The Binsar Trek begins with a drive from Kathgodam Railway Station to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Kumaon region during the drive. The trek itself takes you through beautiful forests, with opportunities to see wildlife and enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. You’ll encounter a few villages and tea stalls along the way. The path gradually descends towards Dhaulchina, where you’ll stay in a homestay or eco-camp.
This Binsar Weekend Trek offers a chance to escape the city and immerse yourself in nature. Trek through the peaceful forests of the Binsar Sanctuary, enjoy the fresh air, and witness breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas. Day 2 - Lohajung to Didna (Trek)

Driving Distance (Jageshwar to Kathgodam): 120 kilometers/ 4 Hours
The Binsar Trek is a fantastic way to experience the beauty of the Himalayas. You’ll start your day with a beautiful sunrise and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then, you’ll head to the Jageshwar Temple and later drive back to Kathgodam, ending your weekend adventure.
During the trek, you’ll walk through stunning scenery. You’ll see amazing views of the mountains from a special rock garden. The trek itself is a moderate climb, and you’ll pass through lush forests filled with pine, oak, and deodar trees. You might even spot some beautiful rhododendron flowers.
Keep an eye out for wildlife! The Binsar Sanctuary is home to many birds, so bring your binoculars if you’re a birdwatcher. If you’re lucky, you might spot some monkeys or other animals too.

Please make sure to reach Kathgodam Railway Station by 6:00 AM. Once you’re there, VTT will handle the rest of your journey. If you’d like VTT to pick you up, you can choose this option when booking your trip.
Try to arrive at Kathgodam between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The drop-off point is Kathgodam Railway Station. If you need to travel further, please plan to do so after 8:00 PM.
Kathgodam is 6 km from Haldwani, which will take about 20 minutes by car.
VTT provides comfortable rides in Tempo Travelers, Boleros, or similar vehicles. If you’d like to upgrade your transportation, just contact your trek coordinator for help.
